Dating to the late 19th century, a magnificent Victorian creation encrusted with a constellation of twinkling hand cut Diamonds and deep pinky red Rubies set in beautifully age darkened Silver. A six point starburst, the whole is 3D and arranged over three layers resting upon an 18ct yellow Gold beaded gallery. The gems are mounted in a variety of ways to emphasise the starburst shape and show their glitter to best advantage.
This impressive jewel may once have been a brooch or part of a larger parure as the wearing of star jewels was terribly fashionable. The whole piece measures just over 3cm across and is fitted with two rings to the reverse which enable it to be worn as a pendant. As the focal point of a dress, on the lapel or as a pendant, this spectacular jewel will never fail to catch the eye.
