ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Being offered for sale is the antique RIVETED IRON-HANDLED COPPER POT / KETTLE / CAULDRON by "GAILLARD PARIS" (partial logo stamp & separate "33" visible at sidewall, left of handle, see 2nd pic) possibly used at the "RITZ CARLTON" (as per 2nd stamp found right of handle, see 4th pic - unfortunately, we have no additional history on this piece), from circa the mid -to- late 19th century (best guess but possibly even older), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale AS-FOUND, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential.
SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!
CONDITION NOTES:
Two sizable repairs at base/bottom rim (see last 6 pics - best visible in the very last 3). We are not experts at assessing copper repairs but they look to be very well done to us. Holds water - NO leaks. Handle remains incredibly strong. Does not sit perfectly flat (but pretty close - just an approximately 1/8" wobble side to side). Sharpie marker handwriting at base (see last 2 pics - possibly by repair company?). Otherwise, moderate -to- severe cosmetic blemishes throughout. Features outstanding, rich patina throughout. All-in-all, an awesome example of an especially rare & special, old Gaillard Paris copper pot! See pics.
